League of Legends Patch Notes — Patch 10.6 Preview (Top Buffs, Funnel Nerfs, Ranked Changes)

Patch 10.6 is only a week away, but Riot Games have made up their minds about the upcoming changes to League of Legends. Let’s dive into them.

Teleport, Funnel, Death’s Dance

  • Teleport cooldown changed from 360 seconds to 420–240 seconds based on champion level (evens out at Level 7). The Summoner Spell now also grants 30–45% Movement Speed buff for 3 seconds based on champion level
  • Monster Hunter penalty now additionally lowers minion XP by 50% to make funneling less effective
  • Death’s Dance cost increased from 3,500 to 3,600; Attack Damage lowered from 80 to 50; added +30 Armor and +30 Magic Resistance; changed components to Aegis of the Legion+Vampiric Scepter+Caulfield’s Warhammer+500 Gold

Matchmaking Changes

  • If it takes autofilling to have a match, the game tries to have people play the same undesired role
  • The game also tries to have the same number of Duos on both teams

Champions

Aphelios

  • Severum Lifesteal lowered from 8–25% to 3–20%
  • Infernum damage to minions lowered from 45% to 30%
  • Mini-Chakram damage lowered from 30–173% to 24–164% of total Attack Damage 

Anivia

  • R chill duration increased from 2 to 3 seconds

Brand

  • Passive now deals 120% damage to monsters

Darius

  • W bonus damage lowered from 50/55/60/65/70% to 40/45/50/55/60% of total Attack Damage
  • W mana cost increased from 30 to 40
  • E mana cost increased from 45 to 60

Draven

  • W movement increased from 40/45/50/55/60% to 50/55/60/65/70%

Garen

  • Magic Resistance gain per level lowered from 1.25 to 0.75
  • E crit scaling lowered from 50% to 33%

Hecarim

  • R fear duration (which scales with distance) increased from 0.75–1.75 seconds to 0.75–2 seconds

Kayn

  • Passive orb rate increased

Kindred

  • Attack Damage gain per level increased from 2.26 to 2.5
  • W self-healing increased from 32–100 to 45–100 (still depending on Kindred’s level)
  • R healing upon the end of the ability increased from 200/250/300 to 200/300/400

Morgana

  • Movement speed increased from 330 to 335
  • W now deals 150% damage to monsters
  • E shield value buffed from 60/120/180/240/300 to 80/135/190/245/300

Ryze

  • Mana Regeneration gain per level increased from 0.8 to 1
  • W damage increased from 80/100/120/140/160 to 80/110/140/170/200

Senna

  • Attack Damage gain per soul lowered from 1 to 0.75
  • Weakened Soul per champion cooldown recalculated from 4 to 6/5/4 seconds at levels 1/6/11

Shaco

  • R clone auto attack damage lowered from 75% to 60% total Attack Damage

Shen

  • Q damage cap against monsters raised from 75/100/125/150/175 to 120/140/160/180/200

Soraka

  • Q total healing increased from 40/50/60/70/80 to 50/60/70/80/90
  • Q movement speed increased from 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% to 15/17.5/20/22.5/25%

Teemo

  • Q blind duration doubled against monsters
  • E now deals 150% damage to monsters

Twisted Fate

  • W blue card AP scaling increased from 50% to 90% of Ability Power
  • W red card AP scaling increased from 50% to 70% of Ability Power

Urgot

  • Q slow duration increased from 1 to 1.25 seconds
  • E stun duration increased from 0.75 to 1 second

Veigar

  • Q damage increased from 70/110/150/190/230 to 80/120/160/200/240

Wukong

  • Mini-rework is scheduled to be released on Patch 10.6
  • We will be expanding on Wukong rework in a separate article

Xerath

  • W center damage increased from 150 to 166.7%
  • R damage increased from 200240/280+43% Ability Power to 200/250/300+45% Ability Power

Yorick

  • A grave now spawns on large monster death
  • Ghouls take 50% reduced damage from monsters

Zyra

  • Plants now deal 150% damage to monsters

When will Patch 10.6 be released?

Patch 10.6 is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18. There will be a few hours of downtime during which you can’t play League of Legends. The maintenance is usually scheduled for the early morning of Wednesday.
